Since season 2009/2010 Diego is playing very successful at the traditional Club Juventus Turin. Upon his transfer to Italy he was playing for the four times german bundesliga-champion SV Werder Bremen. In season 2006/2007 Werder was locked the second place and qualified the Champions League attendance 2007/2008. With the brazilian nationalteam diego was winning the Copa América 2004 and 2007. 2004 he guided Santos to the brazilian championship.
